Also, bring a hat and sunscreen! For extra fun, bring a piece of cardboard to slide down the HUGE slide! Makes sliding down it extra fast.

Jewish Culture School

Enrollment is open for the 2018-2019 year.  If you are looking for a hands-on Jewish cultural experience for your children, JCS is for you.  Our students sing in English, Hebrew and Yiddish, folk dance, cook Jewish foods from all over the world and learn about Jewish history and culture in an interactive respectful welcoming environment.
This year, the curriculum for the older class (ages 10-14) is Jewish life in the Middle Ages.  (2019-2020 is Jewish life in Eastern Europe, 2020-21 is Israel and Sephardic Jews, 2021-22 is holidays and life cycles.)
The younger children will be learning about the shtetl.  They’ll cook foods from the time and place, learn some Yiddish words, hear stories, and of course, sing and dance.

Tri-Valley Cultural Jews is hosting a three part speaker series highlighting Jews in various countries around the world. The presentations will take place in different restaurants which represent the topic of the presentation. Come join us for a fascinating journey around the world where Rabbi Judith Seid will tell us about the history and contribution of the Jews in each region while we all enjoy food from that location.

Tri-Valley Cultural Jews Passover Seder

TVCJ’s annual community seder will be held at the Bothwell Arts Center, 2466 8th Street in Livermore on Saturday, March 31 at 5 p.m.  Reservations are required.  To reserve a space and receive a potluck assignment, please call (510) 888-1404 or e-mail Reservations@EastBayCulturalJews.org by March 26. Food need not be kosher for Passover.  There is a requested donation of $25/adult non-member of TVCJ.  Children are welcome.  Our secular seder, replete with songs songs of resistance and hope, uses an English-language progressive Secular haggadah highlighting the power of community and the value of freedom.  The hour-long ceremony, followed by a potluck dinner, is family-friendly (but not child-centered).

Tri-Valley Cultural Jews will be holding a secular Purim celebration on Sunday, March 4 from 10:30 – 12:30 at the Bothwell Arts Center in Livermore. We will make hamantaschen, have crafts, games, and fun for all ages, and present our annual Purim skit. Attendees are welcome to come dressed as their favorite Purim character. This event is free for TVCJ members, and costs $10 for non-members (which can be applied to a membership if someone wishes to join). The Bothwell Arts center is located at 2466 8th St. in Livermore.
