Last week at Jewish Cultural School our students explored the history of Jewish involvement in the fight for LBGTQ+ rights--learning how generations of Jews have spoken out for equality, dignity and a better world for us all.We connected these stories to enduring Jewish values: standing up for justice, welcoming people who are different from us, and helping to make the world a kinder, more inclusive place. And of course, we added our own colorful touch--making rainbow pizza together and singing songs that celebrate community and pride. At Jewish Culture School, we bring Jewish culture and history to life! See what we're cooking up next! ... See MoreSee Less

No expectations. Just a group of folks (of all ages) coming together to build something with their hands, eat something delicious, and remember what it feels like to create something together.Come for the power tools.Stay for the potluck.Leave with that good, low-key feeling of being part of something.Sunday, Oct 5 | 10:30AM-12PM | LivermoreRSVP required | Suggested donation: $15 non-member adults(No one turned away for lack of funds)CulturalJews@gmail.com | (925) 399-8029 ... Sukkah Raising & Potluck -- A Festive Morning for All AgesSunday, October 5 | 10:30AM-12PM | LivermoreEver built a sukkah with a bunch of culturally Jewish folks, a pile of wood, a few power tools and zero pressure to know what you're doing? Now's your chance.Join Tri-Valley Cultural Jews for a morning of community, creativity and collaborative chaos as we raise and decorate our sukkah together. No building experience needed--we'll guide you through it. And yes, kids will get to try out power tools--because building a sukkah is way more fun when we're all involved.Once the sukkah is standing and the adrenaline has worn off, we'll reward ourselves with a potluck brunch. Bring something tasty to share, and help us keep it green by bringing your own plate, cup and utensils.Want to contribute to the vibe? Bring some natural decorations and a branch for the roof of our sukkah. Crafts and kid-friendly activities will be available, and so is that sweet, low-key feeling of being part of something built together.New to the community? Not religious? Not sure if this is "your thing"?That's exactly why you should come. We're a friendly, no-judgement, culturally Jewish group--and this might be just the kind of connection you didn't know you were looking for.RSVP required | Suggested donation: $15 per non-member adults(No one will be turned away for lack of funds)CulturalJews@gmail.com | (925) 399-8029 ...
